The following information is intended to assist customers who have purchased Evac+Chair. Further information on the MHRA guidelines can be found on their website at www.mhra.gov.uk
The Evac+Chair is a ‘class 1 medical device’ as per MHRA guidelines and therefore should be serviced on an annual basis as recommended by the manufacturer as stated in the MHRA guidelines MHRA DB2006(05).
The guidelines state:
· The frequency of servicing should be based on the manufacturer’s recommendations otherwise the provider will carry increased liability in any subsequent litigation.
· To ensure that replacement parts are of the correct specification purchase them either directly from the manufacturer (or appointed distributor) or to the same specification.
· The responsible organisation should take all reasonable steps to ensure that equipment is repaired and maintained appropriately.
· All staff involved in maintenance and/or repair should be appropriately trained and qualified.
· Manufacturer’s maintenance instructions and timescales should be adhered to.
D M Wood Medical offers a yearly service contract under which the Evac+Chair is serviced and maintained by a fully trained engineer on site. A yearly service consists of maintaining the chair to the proper standards including replacing parts (excludes the kickstand) when required. For further information please call 08700 858501.
